Richard Sutch Student Travel Awards

The Social Science History Association is pleased to offer a limited number of student travel grants to help offset the cost to graduate students (and the occasional exceptional undergraduate) attending our annual conference. The grants will be given in the form of up to four nights single-occupancy rooms at the conference hotel. We are not able to support direct payments for travel costs other than hotel costs. If awarded a grant, the association will book and pay for your hotel directly, and no outlay for accommodation will be required prior to the conference. More details will be provided if awarded a grant.

Applications are closed for this year. The deadline to apply will be June 30th for the 2027 conference. Please be patient as the notification process can take several weeks to complete. The network reps will make their decisions within a month of the closing of the deadline.
